ANTIOCH NEWS The fifth Sunday night singing was very successful. A large crowd attended. We had 15 dif ferent singing groups to partici pate. Miss Gail Renfrew was in the hospital for a few days but is now out and improving at home. Mrs. Lilliam Strickland is spending a week with her sister, Mrs. Beatrice Narron of Smith. Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis were honored at a stork shower Satur day night at the Antioch com munity building by her mother, Mrs. Hettie Narron. Thirty guests attended. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Davis and son of Fayetteville were the week end guests of Mr. Davis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Narron and children of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. Alin Narron Jr. and children of Micro were the week end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Narron. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hinton and children were the weekend guests of Mrs. Hinton’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sneed of Four Oaks. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Parrish and son were gtlests during the week end of Mr. and Mrs. James Sul livan and children of Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Boykin were the guests during the week end of Mrs. Stella Narron and Mrs. Lessie Stancil. Mr. and Mrs. Obie Hinton of Zebulon spent Sunday in our com munity visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Rebecca O’Neal is spending this week in Greenville with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Sullivan. The Sullivans have a new daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Renfrow of Raleigh were the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Renfrow, Mr. Renfrow’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Brown and children of Bethany Community were the guests during the week end of Mr. and Mrs. William Edwin Narron. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Narron of Pine Level, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Narron of Zebulon and Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis of Knightdale were the weekend guests of Mrs. Hettie Narron. Miss Carol Hinton spent last weekend with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hawley of Goldsboro. Birth Mr. and Mrs. James Sullivan of Greenville announce the birth of a daughter, Rebecca Ann, Septem ber 21 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Mrs. Sullivan is the former Eleanor O’Neal. WENDELL, NORTH CAROLINA Hopkins Chapel By Mary Virginia Averette After spending 15 days with his parents, Sonny Perry, Jr., has re turned to his base in Biloxi, Miss issippi, where he will continue his studies in electronics. He will be there twenty-six more weeks. Jim my Perry has returned to State College where he is majoring in Agricultural Engineering. Both boys are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Perry. Grady Medlin Doyle is a student at State College. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Yates and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Craven of Den ton visited Mr. and Mrs. Austin Perry during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Bailey announce the birth of a baby girl, Dana Elizabeth, on September 20. Mrs. Bailey is the former Judy Perry. Mrs. Reba Woodruff of Ports mouth, Va., spent several days last week with her son and his family, the Billy Joe Baileys. Elaine Doyle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Doyle, has re turned to Woman’s College of the University of N. C. in Greensboro where she is a sophomore. Howard G. Doyle of 205 Shelton Drive, Raleigh, has been sworn in as a member of the N. C. Bar. The oath was administered by Judge Clarence Hall in Durham Superior Court. Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Doyle, is a 1963 grad uate of the University of North Carolina Law School. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Eason and children of Dunn visited Mrs. Ea son’s mother, Mrs. L. N. Baker, during the weekend. Pleasant Hill News By Mrs. T. Y. Puryear Dr. George Shriver is the interim pastor of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Sunday, October 6, is Homecom ing Day. The Rev. William Pool will be our guest speaker. The goal for our offering has been set at $5,000. Picnic dinner will be served on the grounds following the morning worship hours. Last Sunday was promotion day. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Starnes had lunch with their parents, the Alon_ za Starnes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Patterson of Raleigh were vis itors in the afternoon. Mrs. Marie Starnes’ father is very ill in Wendell-Zebulon Hos pital. Mrs. Alice Whitaker has been ill for several weeks. She is bet ter now. Mr. and Mrs. Kirkman Richard son of Corinth, Mrs. Cleo Liles and Mrs. Jimmy Liles of Wendell vis ited Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Whitaker Sunday afternoon. Gratis Haswell has returned biome from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus Haswell of Wendell and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Miller of Garner visited him Sunday. Mrs. J. W. Gay is ill. Mrs. Pearl Wood and Mrs. Mar guerette Jeffreys of Raleigh visited Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Carter last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. T. Y. Puryear vis ited their mother, Mrs. Alice Hood, last Friday at Wake Forest Rest Home. Mrs. Roy Smarr of Columbia, S. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smarr, Jr., of Roanoke Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Oris Horton visited Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Anderson of Eagle Rock Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beckwith and daughter of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Mc Swain and son of Wendell had din ner with Mr. and Mrs. Oris Hor ton last Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. T. Y. Puryear, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. T. Y. Puryear, Jr., and daughter of Wendell were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Puryear Monday night. Visitors of the T. Y. Puryears, Sunday, were Carl Puryear of Rolesville, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Wil liford, Mrs. Naomi Carter, Ted Cash well and two sons of Raleigh and T. Y. Puryear, Jr., of Wendell.
